Walk Together - This is a story of little sunshine

---

In 2024, Maki presented two solo exhibitions under the title "Walk Together."

Her summer exhibition at Bridge Pottery Gallery on the Gower Peninsula focused on ceramic works from her "Sailing Stones — 旅する石" series—a project born during the 2020–2022 pandemic.

Faced with a temporary isolation akin to sakoku (national isolation) and a 5-mile travel restriction, Maki spent the lockdown practicing flying in her garden dreaming of the sky, and crafting clay replicas of stones scattered along the seashore dreaming of the sea that connect to the outer world. This was beautifully paired with her autumn solo exhibition in Cardiff, which showcased a newly created series of 300 original prints.
